Story
From a series of photos taken at the Boston Aquarium in 2022. This is their triple-fin grouper. I had a canvas with a blue background lying around for a few years. I thought I’d start the grouper painting. Because I randomly started this in February, and it went quickly, I decided to submit it to the annual community art show – ARTPM 2023 – at Bouy Gallery. Making a frame at the 11th hour was the most stressful part.
This painting will be for sale at the Seacoast Art Association body of work exhibit in February 2024 – $690 framed.

Various stages:

Feb 2 – 6. I painted the grouper, and touched up the background sketched in the other fish.

Feb 9. Working on the bottom and seeing how to tackle the transparent-looking fish.

Feb 17. Done enough.
