Hindu-Jewish Coalition

Logo design, website design, and development.

Backstory

The Hindu Jewish Coalition was created to build relationships between Hindu and Jewish communities in the areas of business, religion, and advocacy. They wanted a logo to reflect a merger between the two communities – Hindu and Jewish. They had repurposed a logo that I found in numerous places across the web. It was a combination of the Star of David and the Hindu Aum. I decided to work with a menorah instead. After many iterations, I found the perfect balance and used the same shapes on each side for symmetry.

I also designed and coded their website which still exists though not updated as frequently as their Facebook page. Hindu-Jewish Coalition (hindujewish.org)

For imagery in the website page banners, I used architectural images from the two cultures.

Notes to self

Finding imagery for websites is often a challenge. When I’m at a loss, public domain architecture often comes to the rescue.
