Ella

Story

Margery’s friend’s son’s girlfriend’s beloved dog, Ella, passed away this past spring. I feel in love with the photos of the dog.

Process

There were a few photos to choose from. My favorite was Ella on the couch, but I could tell something about her personality by looking at all the images. She seemed super easygoing, kind, loving. The type of dog that would break your heart. Painting her, I missed her.

A couple of photos of the final. It’s hard to get the feeling of the actual painting. One photo is too reflective, and the other is too saturated. Paintings are so much better in real life.
