Backstory
This is a video interpretation of the IT Security Controls infographic. It brings the topic home by comparing IT Security Control steps to actions you might take to securing your personal property.
Powtoon is a video creation tool that lets you (somewhat) quickly put together a sequence of images to audio. If you choose not to pay an arm and a leg, you access a subset of their clipart and characters. If you find their free palette too limiting, it is possible to add your own artwork – which I did.
What could go wrong?
Any canned graphics package is going to look exactly like that – canned. Mercifully, there is a lot of latitude in these whiteboard videos – people have low expectations. Nobody really believes that a severed arm is actually writing in a font on a whiteboard. So, as long as you get the point across, pay attention to timing, and work with the music, you can go a long way to communicating your message in a light-hearted way.
